The Lifeline Program® Signs Betty White for Marketing Campaign;
"Golden Girl" Adds Star Power to Insurance Settlement Industry
ATLANTA, Georgia, U.S.A., February 22, 2005 - The Lifeline Program®, a life insurance settlement company, today announced that actress Betty White, six-time Emmy Award winner, former "Golden Girl" and current star of "Boston Legal," will serve as the celebrity host for the company's new life settlement DVD. Life settlements enable individuals, typically seniors or the terminally ill, to sell existing life insurance policies for cash. This type of transaction is growing in popularity among seniors wishing to turn non-performing insurance investments into financial gains.
White, a television icon who has starred in such programs as "Mary Tyler Moore" and "The Golden Girls" will star in the Lifeline Program's sales and marketing DVD which will be distributed as an educational tool to life insurance agents and financial planners for use with their respective clients. Production is scheduled to begin this month and distribution will begin in late March. White will also appear in select Lifeline Program advertising.
A life settlement is the sale of an existing life insurance policy (for more than the current cash surrender value) by an elderly or terminally ill policyholder. A settlement is a unique alternative to surrendering a policy or letting it lapse and can be offered on term, whole or universal life policies
Apart from starring roles in "Mama's Family" and her own "The Betty White Show" among many others, she has made hundreds of television guest appearances ranging from "What's My Line" in 1955 to "The Love Boat" in 1982 and "The Simpsons" in 2004. She is currently starring in ABC's "Boston Legal."
"Betty White is one of America's most recognizable and beloved faces, particularly when it comes to seniors," said Wm. Scott Page, president and CEO of the Lifeline Program. "She will help us to teach thousands of seniors how to uncover hidden wealth by selling their life insurance policies."
